LIFE TIME TRI TEMPE

Life Time Tri Tempe is an exciting fall triathlon experience through the Valley of the Sun – and a perfect training tool for the IRONMAN Arizona 70.3 and 140.6 races. The start line, finish line and transition area are all centrally located within Tempe Beach Park, making race day easy for athletes and spectators alike. The race kicks off with a swim in Tempe Town Lake, followed by a relatively flat, urban bike ride. In the final leg of the race, athletes run around Tempe Town Lake with views of the Mill Avenue District and a big finish at Tempe Beach Park.
COURSE DESCRIPTION
All participants start at Tempe Beach Park, on the south bank, just west of the Mill Avenue Bridge. Historically, the weather race day has seen high temperatures in the low 90s, with lows in the mid 60s. It’s a dry heat! In addition, our course is wheelchair friendly and we gladly welcome para-athletes to participate!
Swim Course
The swim takes place in a manmade lake that is very calm unless there are high winds (i.e. storm force). The swim course will be a rectangle for both International and Sprint athletes. Water temperatures will be approximately 80 degrees. We will be monitoring and posting the temperature of the lake right up to the event.
Cut Off Time: 9:15 a.m.
Bike Course
The bike portion is a relatively flat, urban, looped course; each loop is approximately 12.3 miles. International distance athletes must complete two loops of the bike course.
Partial Cut Off Time (i.e. no new laps): 10:00 a.m.
Complete Cut Off Time: 11:30 a.m.
Run Course
The run is a 3.1-mile loop around Tempe Town Lake with some great views of ASU and the developing landscape of Tempe. International distance athletes must complete two loops of the run course.
Partial Cut Off Time: 12:45 p.m.
AID STATIONS
There will be water and Lemon-Lime Gatorade Endurance Formula available on course at all aid stations and at the start and finish lines. All aid stations on the course will have dozens of enthusiastic volunteers and portable toilets located nearby.

ALERT SYSTEM
This race will utilize the EAS system, encompassing a color-coded system to reveal current event conditions. Participants will notice flags posted throughout the Race Venue, at the Finish Line and at each Aid Station on Race Day. EAS updates will be communicated through PA announcements, social media, web posts and/or dedicated emails.
