The 1st annual Road To Glory 5k race will takes place on June 30th, 2018 at Roy Wilkins Park, named after the famed civil rights leader and former NAACP president. This unique public space is a cultural touchstone for all of New York City and on this day it will be used to gather our strength and endurance to help support and recharge the facilities that grow and nurture our children.

 

Our mission for our annual One Heart One Mind, “Road To Glory”  5k charity race is to take our place in the journey towards completeness. Helping others become complete whether in their businesses, finances, and or societal relations is the goal of these races. We seek to fill in the missing pieces, and fix what has been broken through identifying the needs of our community and working together in unity and generosity to fulfill those needs.

This year's race titled “Light It Up” is geared towards helping those who help our communities most pivotal and impressionable members of our society- the elders who have paved the way before us and the children who walk into the future that was paved for them. With the proceeds raised through the production and participation of this event, we will help preschools, early childhood development centers, and nursing homes upgrade their lighting to LED lighting- at no cost to them.

You may think that lighting is no need for concern, but the reality is that outdated and inefficient lighting hits the bottom line for these facilities- each and every day, costing them hundreds of dollars in wasted energy each year. The bottom line is our Starting line! Join us on this “Road To Glory,” as we “Light It Up!
