Event Description
HALF MARATHON:
Race starts at 6:50 AM PDT in downtown Monterey on Sunday, November 11
• Open to 8,000 total entrants. Must be age 12 or older to register.
• The Half Marathon course is in Monterey and Pacific Grove, with most of it next to the beautiful Monterey Bay. It is organized by the Big Sur International Marathon but is not held in Big Sur or on the Highway 1 Big Sur Marathon course.
• Must be 9 years of age or older and in good health to participate. Youth ages 9-11 must provide a medical release from a physican.
• There is a 3 1/2 hour time limit (16 minutes per mile pace) that begins when last starter crosses start line timing mat
• Half Marathon participants will receive a long sleeve ASICS technical fabric shirt in gender specific sizing
• Half Marathon runners will be corralled according to predicted finish time and start in waves. If you do not provide a time, we will assign you one in the last corral (3:06 – 3:30 hours)
• Bib tag timing for all participants. Cash awards are based on GUN, divisional awards on tag time. You are not eligible for an award if you are wearing an Ipod, per USATF rule 144.3
• Cash awards will be awarded to the top eight overall male and female finishers. Divisional awards will go five deep in five year age groups to 80+ after 12-15 and 16-19. All official finishers receive a unique finisher's medallion. If you win a cash prize you are not eligible for divisional awards (no double dipping)
• Entry fee is NON-TRANSFERABLE TO A DIFFERENT YEAR AND NON-REFUNDABLE! No exceptions! Registration protection is available via Active.com. Look for information on the payment page at registration check-out.
• No pets, wheels, pacers (except for Treadmill Pace Team), selfie sticks, poles or baby joggers on the course
Ocean View Challenge
• Date: Saturday, November 10th for the 5K and Sunday, November 11th for the Half Marathon
• Time: 8:30 AM for the 5K and 7 AM for the Half Marathon
• Location: Lovers Point Park on Saturday and Del Monte Avenue in Monterey on Sunday
• Open to 700 entrants
• Must be 12 years of age or older in and good health to participate
Pacific Grove Lighthouse 5K:
• Date: Saturday, November 10, 2018
• Time: 8:30 a.m.
• Location: Lovers Point Park in Pacific Grove
• Open to 1,000 entrants
• Must be 5 years of age or older and in good health to participate
• Awards are three deep in five year age groups after 5-6, 7-8, 9-11, 12-15 and 16-19. There is an overall award for the top male and female winners, and the top male and female masters winners (age 40 and over)
• Entry fee is NON-TRANSFERABLE AND NON-REFUNDABLE! No exceptions!
By-the-Bay 3K
• DATE: Saturday, November 10, 2018
• TIME: 8:00 a.m.
• LOCATION: Lovers Point Park in Pacific Grove
• A 3K (approximate 2 mile) out and back course. This is a non-timed fun run for children, their friends, and family. All registrants receive a finisher’s medallion and t-shirt. Must be age 4 or older to participate.

$125 adult age 18+. $115 youth age 9-17 8/15 to 9/10/18
$10 Active Duty Military discount available (doesn't apply for spouses or dependents)
Ocean View Challenge - Combo Package to run the 5K on Saturday, 11/10 and the half marathon on Sunday, 11/11: Adult age 18+ $125, Youth age 12-17 $115
