LEADVILLE TRAIL MARATHON & HEAVY HALF
Saturday, June 16, 2018

Run through the historic mining district’s challenging old mining roads and trails, and hit a high of 13,185 feet at Mosquito Pass during the Leadville Trail Marathon or Heavy Half Marathon. The views will leave you breathless, if you’re not already. The marathon will mark its 17th year in 2018, while the Heavy Half will mark its 13th.

Course Cutoffs
There is an 8.5-hour total time limit for the marathon, and aid station cutoffs will occur at 1:45 p.m. at Aid Station B inbound (17.1 miles) and 3:00 p.m. at Aid Station A inbound (21.3 miles). There is also an 8.5-hour total time limit for the Heavy Half, and there will be a cutoff at 1:45 p.m. at Aid Station B inbound (11 miles).

Packet Pickup
Race number and packet pickup are on Friday at Race Headquarters, 316 Harrison Avenue, from 3 p.m.. to 9 p.m., and on race day at Race Headquarters from 6 a.m. to 7:30 a.m.

Awards Ceremony
The Heavy Half Awards Ceremony will take place at 1 p.m. at the Start/Finish, while the full Marathon Awards Ceremony will take place at the Start/Finish at 5 p.m.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

The race course is out and back through the historic mining district on the east side of Leadville. Race start will be at 8 a.m. in front of the Sixth Street Gym. The course is primarily on old mining roads and trails, topping out at 13,185 ft. at Mosquito Pass. You may be crossing snow on the course. The course will be well marked with fluorescent pink-and-black-striped ribbon and chalk arrows.

Aid Stations
There will be seven well-supplied aid stations for the marathon and five well-supplied aid stations for the Heavy Half.
