Event Description

37th Annual Roosa Gap Roller Coaster Runs: 11.5 mile Run & 5K Run/Walk in Wurtsboro, NY.    The Roller Coaster Run is a challenging 11.5 mile run starting by running along the scenic, flat D&H Canal Tow Path, then a right hand turn which leads you to tackling the uphill ascent, which is then rewarded as you hit the top of the ridge to the "Roller Coaster", before you glide into a fabulous downhill finish back into the village.  The 5K Run/Walk is a beautiful, scenic, flat, out and back along the serene & historic D&H Canal Tow Path.    The race is graciously hosted by the Sullivan Striders Running Club and The Mamakating First Aid and Rescue Squad.   Come to run or walk and see our beautiful valley, be a part of our local history, both past and present.  Proceeds from the race benefit the PFC Jerry B. Evans Memorial Scholarship Fund.  Honoring our past to help our future.

Check-in starting at 7:30am at the Mamakating First Aid and Rescue Squad (68 Sullivan St, Wurtsboro).  11.5 mile Start Time: 9:00am (Early Start: 8:45am), 5K Run/Walk Start Time: 10:00am.
