Event Description

It's the Ride for Sight's Silver Anniversary and we'll be pulling out all the stops to make the 25th edition of the event something to be remembered.

We're happy to once again be teaming up with the Cheyenne Eye Clinic as our title sponsor for the 9th consecutive year making them one of the longest standing sponsors of a community charity ride in the Rocky Mountain region.

The event starts Saturday evening, Aug. 5, from 6:30 - 7:30 with the popular pre-ride pasta dinner at the Old West Museum in Frontier Park, compliments of Piccolo Venti.  The dinner will be highlighted by a variety of door prizes, including a chance to buy tickets for a new  road bike, compliments of Rock on Wheels and the Cheyenne Sunrise Lions Club.

The Ride for Sight itself begins on Sunday, Aug. 6, with a continental breakfast at 6:00 a.m. at the North Cheyenne Community Park. Riders will have their choice of several options for 10, 20 and 50 miles plus the full century or the metric routes for courses of 50 and 100 kilometers. Needless to say, you can ride any distance you desire by just turning around at your own convenience.

Riders will find rest stops approximately every 10 miles featuring drinks, fruit, snacks and energy foods, plus toilet facilities. Putting the wraps on the day will be a post-ride lunch, sponsored by Culver's, Domino's Pizza, Olive Garden, Coca-Cola and others, in addition to the awarding of various door prizes. And, don't worry about racing back for lunch as it will be available until the final rider has cleared the course.  Even if you are running really late, we'll package a meal for you!

The Ride for Sight is fully supported with sag wagons, roving mechanics and HAM radio assistance. The route is carefully patrolled and each rider's progress is continuously monitored.

And, it wouldn't be the Ride for Sight without the complimentary commemorative T-shirt, water bottle, meal tickets, and a variety of merchandise prizes!  Packets can be picked up Friday, August 4, from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. at Rock on Wheels (900 E. Lincolnway), Saturday, August 5, from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. at the Bicycle Station (2634 Dell Range Blvd.), at the spaghetti dinner, or Sunday morning at the registration table.

Please Remember - Helmets are Mandatory and all riders must start their return tothe park by 12:00 noon!
