Event Description
The 2nd annual DASH Joey's Run/Walk in collaboration with Plano Pacers Charity 5K will be held on July 28, 2018 at Bob Woodruff Park in Plano, TX. When you run/walk with us, you will be creating awareness and giving HOPE to approximately 46 children that are diagnosed with cancer EVERYDAY and their families. Proceeds from this event will be donated to Joey’s Wings Foundation and directly benefit pediatric kidney cancer research and patients care through the Brugarolas Lab in UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX.
Joey's Wings Foundation
Joey's Wings is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established in 2014 to honor Joey, a boy who loved running and music but was tragically taken away from his family and friends at the tender age of 10 by pediatric kidney cancer. Their mission is to fund research that focuses on kidney cancers affecting children and young adults, raise awareness and provide support to families affected by childhood cancer. The Board of Directors and other team members operate solely on a volunteer basis. They work tirelessly towards this mission and have, among other things, brought federal legislative changes and donated over $100,000 to University of Texas Southwestern (UTSW) kidney cancer research program led by Dr. Jim Brugarolas.

Same day registration is available, but T-shirts and medals may be limited and will be on first come first serve basis for race day registrants.
