Bimbo Bakeries is proud to host its 4th annual Global Energy Race! On Sunday, September 23rd, 35 cities and 23 countries will join together to set families and individuals of the world in motion. After a successful 2017, Dallas is excited to once again host the Global Energy Race! Find all the fun at Klyde Warren Park in the heart of downtown Dallas.

About Global Energy Race
Global Energy Race is for everyone: competitive runners, casual walkers, families, friends, and everyday joggers looking to come out and participate in Bimbo's healthy, active lifestyle initiative. It is truly a global event; In 2016, Global Energy Race broke the Guinness Book of World Records for the most 10K races held simultaneously worldwide on the same day!

Bimbo Bakeries is also proud to partner with local area food banks during September (Hunger Awareness Month). For every kilometer completed by participants, 2 slices of bread will be donated to North Texas Food Bank to support the local Dallas community. Every step helps feed someone in need.

Activities
The Global Energy Race festival area at Klyde Warren Park will feature a post-race recovery zone, refueling snack stations, food trucks, music, special guests, and much more! Make sure to check it out!

Course Description
The 2017 Dallas Global Energy 5K/10K starts and finishes at Klyde Warren Park, a green space nestled between Uptown and the Dallas Arts District. The course route takes runners through portions of Uptown as they run past the American Airlines Center, home of the Dallas Mavericks and Dallas Stars. After crossing into the Design District, 5K runners will turn back towards downtown while 10K runners will connect onto the Trinity Strand Trail. 10K Runners continue on this urban trail through the Design and Medical Districts before turning around to head back to Klyde Warren Park.

The 10K is a USATF certified course. Chip timing will be used for both 10K & 5K distances.

Parking & Transportation
Paid parking is available at a variety of garages within a few blocks of Klyde Warren Park.

The park is within walking distance of the St. Paul and Pearl/Arts District DART rail stations.

Prizes
Male and Female first-place 10K winners will receive a trip for two (2) to Madrid to run in the 2019 Global Energy Race!* In addition, trophies will be awarded to the top 3 finishers in the Men’s and Women’s 10K.

All participants in the Global Energy Race will receive a medal at the finish line!

Race Packet & Packet Pick-Up
All registered participants will receive a race packet that includes:
• Tech Runners T-shirt
• Drawstring bag
• Race Bib
• Timing chip
• And many other giveaways

Packet pick-up will take place at Luke's Locker (3046 Mockingbird Lane, Dallas, TX) on Friday (Sept. 21st) and Saturday (Sept. 22nd) 9:00am - 5:00pm. Packet pick-up is also available the morning of the race, although it is highly recommended you pick up your race packet before race day.

Registration
Please follow the ACTIVE.com sign-up process to complete your registration.

Registration is available on race day. However, it is strongly recommended that you register ahead of time. If you are registering on the day of the race, you must arrive early during the registration window to run or walk.

AWARDS (10) (Two (2) awards provided each Race (one (1) male and one (1) female)):A trip for award recipient and one (1) guest to participate in the 2019 Global Energy Race scheduled to take place in Madrid, Spain. Trip includes round-trip international coach air transportation for award recipient and one (1) guest from major gateway airport nearest award recipient’s residence (as determined by Promoter) to Madrid, Spain, two (2) nights standard hotel accommodations (one (1) room, double occupancy), ground transportation to/from airport/hotel and hotel/race location, registration for winner and guest to participate in the 2019 Global Energy Race, and breakfast, lunch and dinner for winner and guest while on trip (exact location and cost of each meal to be determined by Promoter and its subsidiaries, in their sole discretion).

Challenge begins 6/1/1 at 12:00 a.m. PT, and ends 9/23/18 at 7:30 AM PT. Open to individuals who are 13+ and legal residents in their jurisdiction of residence and are eligible to participate in the challenge or any race. Eligible minors will be required to have their parent’s or legal guardian’s execute a Global Energy Race participant release on their behalf prior to being eligible to participate. Donation: 

Begins 6/1/18 at 12:00am PT, ends 9/23/18 at 6:30am PT. Open to legal residents of the U.S. & D.C. (excluding AL, HI, IL, MA, MS, & SC), 13+. Eligible minors must obtain their parents’ or legal guardians’ consent prior to participating. Bimbo Bakeries USA, Inc. will donate 10 slices of bread for each eligible 5k race registration and 20 slices of bread for each eligible 10k race registration, with a max donation of 250k slices of bread donated. Of the 250k slice max donation, a min of 20k slices will be donated to each of the following 5 food banks; (i) St. Mary's Food Bank Alliance; (ii) Los Angeles Regional Food Bank; (iii) Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida; (iv) Philabundance; and (v) North Texas Food Bank. Residents of AL, HI, IL, MA, MS, & SC and legal residents of jurisdictions outside of the U.S. & D.C. are encouraged to register for an eligible race, however, their participation/registration will not affect the amount of bread slices donated.
