Event Description
We humans used to be walkers. We walked out of Africa to Europe and Asia. But, especially in the United States, we have become sitters. We are now the most sedentary country on earth. For our health, for the connection of community, for the self-empowerment of moving on our own steam, we here at EverWalk are going to ignite a walking revolution.
This is a call to action. Let’s not let our lives slip by us on the couch. Let’s walk with our neighbors after dinner. Let’s walk to do our chores. Let’s walk our kids to and from school. Let’s look up at the strong trees and find equal strength within ourselves.
Walking is the EverWalk way toward imagining the EPIC within all of us.
Join us in August, for an Epic Revolution! Epic Walkers walk the entire route from White Rock, Canada to Seattle, Washingtonover 7 days.
We average 20-mile days, with short rest stops at 5 and 15 miles, a longer rest stop at lunch at 10 miles.
Each day, Epic Walkers will enjoy the lunch stop, then continue to the end of the route to the Closing Rally.
At the end of each day, Diana and Bonnie lead a “fireside chat”, for walkers to share stories from the day’s journey and their life experiences. From our end point each day, we transport you Epics either to the night’s hotel or back to that day’s start point.
The next morning we transport you to the next day’s start. Each Epic receives a swag bag the night before we start, at our welcome registration event on the night of Aug 4th.
There is also a Day Tripper option if you decide not to participate for the full 7 days. Day Trippers walk the entire 20-or-so mile route on a single day of EverWalk. Day Trippers will enjoy the lunch stop, then continue to the end of the route and a Closing Rally.
After the Closing Rally each evening, there will be Campfire Stories with Diana, Bonnie, and their special guests. During Campfire Stories, the EverWalk community will share tales from the day’s journey and from their life experiences. Finally, Day Trippers will be bused back to the starting point of the day’s route. (Except Day 1, we will not be able to provide a ride back to the start on Day 1 as we will have crossed the border).
