Event Description

The Inaugural East Stroudsburg, PA Run For Resilience Ostomy 5k will be held on Saturday, October 6,  2018.  All proceeds benefit the United Ostomy Associations of America, Inc (UOAA) charity, a 501(c)(3) organization. Donations are tax deductible. (https://www.ostomy.org/)

RACE DAY SCHEDULE

9:00 a.m. Registration

10:00 a.m. 5K Run/Walk

12:00 p.m. Awards Ceremony

Bidding at the Silent Auction throughout the morning

50/50 raffle - tickets sold from 9am to 1pm

RACE COURSE

This Certified Timed Race will be at the Levee Loop Trail at Dansbury Park in East Stroudsburg. The race will take participants on the scenic route through wooded and open hiking trails that parallel the Broadhead Creek. The out-and-back course will start and finish at the pavilion at Dansbury Park. This 5K course is mostly flat.

PARKING

Parking will be at the Dansbury Park off of Day Street in East Stroudsburg. 

PACKET PICKUP

Pre-race and day-of Packet Pickup: To Be Announced

 PRIZES

Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 male and top 3 female overall finishers, and top 3 ostomates.

T-SHIRTS

Tech T-shirts will be included with registration if registered before the deadline. Race shirts will be either unisex or female v-neck cut. You are guaranteed a race shirt if you register by September 17th. You may purchase additional race shirts for $10 each.

OPTIONAL OSTOMY POUCH

Race registration bags will have typical race/sponsor promotional items, ostomy education materials, and most importantly an ostomy pouch. We encourage non-ostomate participants to put on the pouch for the race to improve awareness and empathy for the challenges faced by people living with ostomies. 

FUNDRAISING 

Fundraising is an important aspect of our Run for Resilience Ostomy 5K. Funds raised help UOAA continue to provide resources, educational materials, advocacy and support to the ostomy and continent diversion community.

We invite you to set up your own Personal or Team Fundraiser when registering to participate in the event, or through our DONATION link at the top of this page. You can create a unique Fundraiser Name and URL address, personalize your fundraising message, and direct your friends and family to your page to join your team or sponsor you in your fundraising goal.
