Event Description

Celebrate farmland preservation with Lancaster Farmland Trust when you ride in Pedal to Preserve 2018. This is a charitable, fundraising event.

The Trust is a private, nonprofit, 501c3 organization that helps farmers preserve their farmland. When a farm is preserved, it cannot be developed for residential, industrial, or commercial use, forever. The farm family gives up the development rights on the land but continues to own the land and farm it as they wish.

With distances of 6, 20, and 51 miles, these three leisure biking routes provide scenic views of more than 75 family owned, preserved farms in the heart of beautiful Amish country in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. For families, novice riders, and experienced cyclists, this event offers fun for all ages and abilities!

Pedal to Preserve 2018 is a leisure ride. Marked routes, SAG support, coffee, breakfast snacks, rest stops, and lunch are included in your registration. All proceeds benefit the Trust and farmland preservation.

When you participate in Pedal to Preserve, you are protecting farmland, saving natural resources, and safeguarding agriculture as a way of life and the Amish culture.

THANK YOU for choosing Pedal to Preserve and helping save our treasured farmland that boasts the highest quality (non-irrigated) agricultural soils in the nation!

PEDAL TO PRESERVE is a RAIN or SHINE event.
