Event Description

5k run and 1 mile family walk-  Come join us for a run through Buffalo's lower west side, and help raise funds for scholarships for children of Latino veterans here in our community!   The race will be held in the Lower West side Hispanic community, at 254 Virginia.  (Hispanos Unidos de Buffalo).  It will be a USATF certified 5k course.  We will also be raising seed money to establish Buffalo's first Latino Veterans Museum.  The race will be held on Sunday September 9, 2018 at 10:00 am and we will go rain or shine.  Pre-registration for the 5k will be $20.00, and $25 for same day registration. Pre-registration for the walk will be $10 and $15 for same day registration. Shirts will be given to first 100 registrants.  Packet pickup will be at 254 Virginia St, on the day before the race September 8, 2018 and finally day of the race at 8am.  There will be trophies to the first overall male and female competitors, and awards to top 3 finishers in each category.  Age groups will be male and female to the following brackets:

Ages 15-19

Ages 30-34

Ages 35-39

Ages 40-44

Ages 45-49

Ages 50-54

Ages 55-59

Ages 60-64

Ages 65-70

Ages 70-74

Another special award will be presented to the first overall Male and Female Latino Veterans.  

Please stay after  the award ceremony and celebrate with us at the Virginia Street parade and festival!  There will be a DJ playing Latin music, food vendors, childrens activities.
