Event Description

All proceeds from this walk and run support the Food Pantry of Galena, Hudson, Kankakee and Wills Townships. The 5k course winds around Saugany Lake in northern La Porte County.  The 8-Mile course continues along the west side of Hudson Lake before returning to the St. John Kanty Catholic Church starting point, which gives participants a flavor of our beautiful community.  

Event details and schedule

General information:  All proceeds benefit Community Food Pantry of Galena, Hudson Lake, Kankakee and Wills Townships, Inc.

Packet pick-up:  Friday, 9/28/18, 2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. CST at Rolling Prairie Community Center and beginning at 6:45 a.m., Saturday, 9/29/18 at the St. John Kanty Catholic Church registration area.

Course:  Runs and walk will begin and end at St. John Kanty Catholic Church and circle Saugany Lake.  8-mile run will also travel through the Hudson Lake area.

Arrival:  Registration table will open at 6:45 a.m., CST and participants may begin arriving at that time.  All pre-registered participants should arrive at least 30 minutes before start time.

Start time:  7:30 a.m. CST for 8-Mile Run; 8:00 a.m. CST for 5k Run and 8:30 a.m. CST for Family Fun Walk.

Parking info:  Participants should park in the St. John Kanty Catholic Church parking lot.

What to bring:  Please bring registration confirmations, ID, signed waivers.

What to wear:  Seotember mornings can be cool, so dressing in layers is appropriate.  

Note:  This event will be held rain or shine.
