Dirt Days Trail Series - Powder Keg

The Powder Keg is a perennial favorite. Explore the many trails of Carter Park which is behind the Historic Kings Mansion. The course will be fun and challenging. You will do a loop that will take you to down near the Little Miami River. Follow along the river on the old abandoned King Road. Explore an old dam. Climb the "Stairway to Heaven". Race distance is listed as 3.5 miles. However, your mileage may vary. This is the sixth event of the 2018 Dirt Days Trail Series.

The Powder Keg 5K Trail Race is presented by Deerfield Township and The Arts Alliance.

Benefit:

All proceeds benefit The Arts Alliance toward future arts programming.

Carter Park is located behind the old Kings Mansion on King Avenue just North of Kings Island. Carter Park Web Page.

I-71 to Kings Mills Exit. Go East past Columbia. Kings Mills turns into King Ave. Mansion is on the Left.

The Course:

Scenic course explores the trails of the Historic Kings Mansion. Course will be fun and challenging. You will do a loop that will take you to down near the Little Miami River. Follow along the river on the old abandoned King Road. Explore an old dam. Make your ascent to the top via a series of steps. Then, you will explore the north side of the park trails. Follow around some ball fields and then the final push to the finish. Race distance is listed as 3.5 miles. However,your mileage may vary.

Run Divisions:

Run - Men & Women: 14/under, 15-18, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69 and 70/over.

Walk Divisions:

Walk - Men & Women 29/under, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60/over

Individual Event Awards:

Awards to overall male and female runner and walker. There are age group awards for this event.

Age Group awards will be presented immediately after the race based on the above divisions.

Randomly drawn door prizes. 

You must be present to win any random drawing and you cannot accept for someone else, so stick around!

T-Shirts:

Powder Keg T-shirts (Short Sleeved) are available for $10 while supplies last. Pre-register if you know you want one.

We will have a variety of treats for you. 

Registration Fee:

Registration Fee: $15 Pre-registration per race. Late registration, when offered, will be $17. It was determined that not enough folks were pre-registering so the race day fee was raised to $20 to "encourage" pre-registration.

Register online through Thursday, August 23, 2018. Late online registration will be available through Friday, August 24, 2018

Register by mail by printing and mailing a paper registration form. Postmark by Tuesday, August 23, 2018

Register on Race day from 7:30 am through 8:45 am at the venue.

Race Day Registration and pick up:

There is no early packet pick up for this event. Check in on day of race is from 7:30 am through 8:45 am.
