Event Description

The Duathlon combines a 2 mile run; 17 mile bike; and 2 mile run to the finish along the scenic route of the Mohawk Towpath Byway, one of America’s Byways®.  Start, bike exchange, finish and awards will all be at Riverview Orchards, 660 Riverview Road, Rexford.

Scholastic and Grandmaster waves: Participants age 16 and under and age 70 or older may elect to do a 2 mile run, 10 mile bike (one loop), and a 2 mile run to the finish. There will be first, second and third place for female and male in these respective events. Entry fees for these events are discounted.

Moisture wicking winter hat to the first 100 registered.  All participants will receive a Giffy’s BarBQ chicken dinner post race feed.

Proceeds from this event benefit the Friends of the Mohawk Towpath Scenic Byway a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization that seeks to increase awareness, enjoyment and linkage of the wide variety of scenic, recreational and historic resources along the Mohawk River and Erie Canal corridor from Waterford to Schenectady.  The Friends is a membership organization serving as a bridge to our communities.
