2nd Recess aims to inspire youth to lead active and healthy lives through running, cross country, and track and field activities that promote fitness, while educating kids and their families about smart, healthy choices.
It is the goal of 2nd Recess to have kids come away from the program with a basic understanding of healthy habits and a new sense of curiosity for the sport of running that can last a lifetime. 2nd Recess is designed to teach kids and parents the power of exercise, teamwork, and healthy living. Running activities are designed to get kids moving and inspire youth to exercise regularly. During practices, kids learn about:
