Event Description

This 5k For Kidneys event is a 5k Run/Walk that is fun for the whole family! The race will begin, at 9am, and end
at the Riverfront City Park's North Meadow. The scenic route takes runners and walkers around the
water front paths of Riverfront City Park and across the new footbridge into Minot-Brown Park. Right in
the heart of Salem, this course offers the best of the city views and the gorgeous parks of Oregon.

The purpose of this Event is to advocate, raise and spread Awareness of Kidney Disease, and to raise Funds that will support all actions by the American Kidney Fund.

About the American Kidney Fund.        Our Mission: Helping people fight kidney disease and live healthier lives As the nation’s leading nonprofit working on behalf of the 30 million Americans with kidney disease, the American Kidney Fund is dedicated to ensuring that every kidney patient has access to health care, and that every person at risk for kidney disease is empowered to prevent it. AKF provides a complete spectrum of programs and services: prevention outreach, top-rated health educational resources, and direct financial assistance enabling 1 in 5 U.S. dialysis patients to access lifesaving medical care, including dialysis and transplantation. AKF holds the highest ratings from the nation’s charity watchdog groups, including Charity Navigator, which includes AKF on its “top 10” list of nonprofits with the longest track records of outstanding stewardship of the donated dollar, and GuideStar, which has awarded AKF its Platinum Seal of Transparency.

It is for a great Cause and your help in spreading the word and creating even more Awareness is greatly appreciated. Please let me know if you have any questions, and once again your help and participation is greatly appreciated.

Thank you and your support is greatly appreciated.

For WE are NOT seeking our own good, but the good of many, so that they may be Healed!   "Our illness does not define us. Our Strength and Courage does!"
