October training ride for Bike to the Beach Texas hosted by Handlebar Cyclery and Team Linbeck!
Wheels down at 7:30 so arrive 20-30 min early to check in.
This 48 mile training ride is welcome by all. Pay $10 for full use of a rest stop, lunch after your ride, and a chance to win a filled with swag. This training ride will only be supported with one rest stop. There will be no ride marshal or police support so you must FOLLOW THE RULES OF THE ROAD. We will post the map here as well as have printed copies for you the morning of (Current Map). Please note that the route will be subject to change to ensure safety for all riders. Riders are responsible for knowing the route, as signs can often be missing or misplaced.
All groups will be led by Handlebar Cyclery Club Members.
- A Group 22+ mph average
- B+ Group 19-22 mph average
- B Group 18-20 mph average
- C Group 1-16 mph average (no-drop)
*IF YOU HAVE NEVER RIDDEN A GROUP RIDE, WE REQUIRE YOU TO RIDE WITH OUR NO-DROP BEGINNER GROUP! WHICH IS THE C GROUP.
All riders must come prepared with the following:
- HELMET (MANDATORY!)
- Proper hydration & nutrition
- Spare tube & tube repair kit
- Cellular telephone (ICE)
- The ability to keep pace & cycle the distance
We recommend utilizing blinking lights to help be seen, a multi-tool for adjustments, a phone sleeve in case we caught in a rain shower, and perhaps a cycling computer for consistency.
