Where dressing up is ENCOURAGED!

Together we can make downtown Marion “the vibrant heart of our community”. To fulfill this mission DMI has partnered with both public and private organization. Outside of private partnership DMI has partnered with organizations such as The First Church of the Nazarene, The Marion Community foundation, and The Marion Convention Visitors Bureau. In collaboration with these organizations we have been able to update and purchase Christmas decorations, provide new flags to adorn the downtown, assist in demolition of the burned buildings on S. Main, and create new programs such as Paint the Town and the Cultural Corridor. We are excited about continuing our work of beautification, expansion, and support of business in our downtown. Thank you for supporting this event and any other DMI sponsored event.Miles for Marion 5K Run/Walk will be held Saturday October 20, 2018.

Race registration begins at 9am and the 5K will begin at 10 am at the former Marion Rec Center, 240 W. Church St. in Downtown Marion. Participants are welcome to run or walk the 3.1-mile loop in their Halloween Costume (contest included). The 5K will be timed by Speedy Sneakers Racing. Early registration includes a fun goody bag, t-shirt and medal. Long sleeve dri-fit shirts are available for an additional charge.

Last day of registration for a guaranteed t-shirt will be October 8th. The t-shirt sizes will range from Adult XXL- Youth Small. T-shirts will be available for same day registration, however they will be passed out to first come first serve and no size will be guaranteed.

All funds raised will support Downtown Marion, Inc. DMI is a 501(c)3 organization focused on the revitalization of downtown Marion as a central hub of our community.
