Event Description

A great way to help those in need on Thanksgiving and a fun event for the entire family!

Featuring four different events:

-MedExpress 1 Mile Family Fun Run/Walk

-UnitedHealthcare 5K Turkey Trot

-5 Mile Turkey Trot

-GH&A Double Gobble:  The Double Gobble will only be open to the first 350 participants and consists of the 5K Turkey Trot followed by the 5 Mile Turkey Trot!

Important Registration Information:

-All sales are final. No refunds will be issued. 

-Transferring your registration to another person is not permitted. 

-Race day registrations will be limited to 100 people. We will only be taking credit cards as payment on race day.

Early Registration Packet Pick-up

PNC Park, on West General Robinson Street. (Look for the inflatable Turkey.)


Monday, November 19th 10am-8pm

Tuesday, November 20th 10am-5pm

Wednesday, November 21st 10am-8pm


Note: Look for our giant inflatable turkey. Runners may use the Parking Lane next to the park, free of charge, for packet pick-up during unrestricted hours.

 

Family/Friend Packet Pick-Up:

You are allowed to pick up packets for family and friends by showing a copy of their registration confirmation email.  You will not be able to pick up a packet for a friend or family member with an unsigned waiver.  Please make sure you enter accurate email addresses upon registering so the participant receives his or her waiver.

Race Day Packet Pick-Up:

On race day, packet pick-up will be available at PNC Park at the intersection of Mazeroski Way and North Shore Drive but is NOT RECOMMENDED. If possible, please make arrangements to have family/friends pick-up your packet before race day if you are unable.

Strollers:

This is a family event! Strollers are welcome but must line up near the rear of the start area.

Dogs:

Dogs are must be registered and are welcome at our event provided they are leashed and friendly. Runners with dogs must line up near the rear of the start area. Registration includes limited edition Turkey Trot bandana and waste clean up bags for your convenience. 

Parking is pre-paid and included in your registration! Parking lots around the park will be open on race day as follows:

-Participants arriving prior to 8:00 AM may use Gold Lot 1, Lots 7A, B or C, or the West General Robinson Street Garage.

-Participants arriving after 8:00 AM may use Lots 7A, 7B or 7C, or the West General Robinson Street Garage.

-PLEASE NOTE: There will also be parking available at the Carnegie Science Center, but the Science Center lot WILL NOT be free.

Public Transportation:

The T's new North Shore Connector will be open on race day. At this point in time, the Port Authority anticipates service starting at 6:00 AM. Please call the Port Authority at 412-442-2000 for exact stops and times as race day approaches. Park at the 1st Avenue Stop and ride the "T" to the Allegheny Stop to avoid both pre and post race traffic!

Volunteering:

Not a runner but still want to be part of the event? No problem! We'll need over 150 volunteers on the day of the Turkey Trot and could really use your help. From water stops to registration, there's something for everyone to do to help out with the race.  Please register as a volunteer here.

Awards:

Medals will be awarded to overall first, second and third place finishers, for the 1 mile, 5k, and the 5-Mile, both Men and Women.  The Marty Sudzina Award will be given to the top finisher for both the 5K and the 5-Mile, both Men and Women in the Regular and Masters divisions. First, Second, and Third place medals, both Men and Women, will be given out for the GH&A Double Gobble. Kiddie Finisher Medals will be given out for the 1-Mile only.
