Course certification pending. While the name is the same, runners will have a whole new race experience! Beginning in Downtown DeKalb, the new route will take runners through historical neighborhoods, along the Kishwaukee River via Prairie Park, under the railroad tracks and Lincoln Highway via the newly constructed path extension, to the Lagoon, then on to Brigham Field in Huskie Stadium where the Marching Band will be playing, through NIU's campus by the Music Building where the Steelband will be performing, and finish through the Ellwood Historic District and before crossing the finish line in Downtown DeKalb. A Post Race Celebration will be held in Van Buer Plaza where runners will receive a free beer along with food and entertainment.
