Event Description

Join ASR in promoting healthy lifestyles by running or walking whole celebrating El Dai de los Muertos/Day of the Dead. 

Race Highlights:  Run the very scenic shaded course along the paved trails in Wolf Lake at the William W. Powers State Recreation Area in Chicago Illinois.

                           Overall winners and top three runners in each age group will receive a Day of the Dead award

                           All pre-registered runners who meet the cutoff date will receive a day of the Dead shirt.

The course is paved roads/bike trail that runs along the banks of Wolf Lake. 

Runners will have the option of registering for the competitive chip timed division or the non competitive non-chip timed division.  Both distances will complete the same 5k course.

All finishers will receive a medal for completing the course.

Age group awards for the competitive division will be :  14 and under.  15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69 ,70 and over.

Race results will be posted on Action Sports Timing.

What time is the race?  The race will start at 9:00 am

Do I have to register on-line?  Yes, Registration is only available on line.  There will not be any race day registrations.

Where and when is packet pick up?  More details on this later.

Is this event chip timed?  Yes, for the competitive 5k there will be disposable chips on the backs of the runners bibs.

                                       There will not be chips for the Non-competitive division.
