The best bike race in Boulder is back and better than ever!! Join us on Wednesday, September 26th for the 3rd Annual CLIF Klunker Crit!!
What is the CLIF Klunker Crit? The CLIF Klunker Crit is a bike race in which racers ride single speed bikes around a course that has small jumps, a variety of obstacles and maybe a bouncy castle or a tent filled with foam! The racing however is just a portion of the fun! Spectating is a huge and very entertaining part of the event as well and is free! We encourage everyone to come out and enjoy our newest CLIF Bar products, beer from Sanitas Brewery, tacos from McDevitt Taco as well as free ice cream from Sweet Cow Ice Cream and the opportunity to create a custom Clif Klunker Crit t-shirt!
Who can Race? YOU! For 2018, the CLIF Klunker Crit is open to the first 100 riders to sign up! We encourage racers to have some experience riding a bike but the course will be manageable for anyone with intermediate bike skills and the event is truly all about having fun! (Please note: All racers must be 18 years or older!)

FAQs
How much does it cost? The entry fee is $5 for all racers and all proceeds from the race will go to a local non-profit! Spectating is free!
And what is the format? The format has changed a bit in 2018 but we know that the competition will remain fierce and most importantly, the stoke level will be high! All 100 riders will participate in a lightening round which will consist of heats of 4 riders riding one lap for a seed time. The top 64 riders will then be paired with another rider to race the final heats as a team as we work our way down to CLIF Klunker Crit Champions!
Do I need to sign up with a partner? With the new format in 2018, you DO NOT need to sign up with a partner! Riders who are in the top 64 will be paired with another rider for the final heats!
Do I need to bring my own bike or helmet? All Klunker bikes will be provided and are the only bikes that riders are allowed to use. All riders are required to wear a helmet and we will have some on site although we encourage you to bring your own if you have one!
Are costumes required? Required no but encouraged, YES! The photo ops are always better when you wear a costume!
SCHEDULE:
5:00pm - 6:00pm: Course open for pre-riding
6:00pm – 7:15pm: Ligtening Round! Each rider does 1 lap for a qualifying time!
7:15pm – 7:30pm: Top 64 riders are paired off and the bracket is built!
7:30pm – 9:00pm: Teams race in heats of 4 as we work our way down to a champion!
