Join us in participating in our inaugural Alivia's Heart & Sole 5k at Liberty Mountain Resort

Gather at the Carroll Valley Golf Course at Liberty Mountain Resort and complete a 5k run or walk along our paved cart path in support of Children's Hospital of Philadelphia's Single Ventricle Survivorship Program. Everyone is invited to join us for a post-race happy hour and market to enjoy food, beverages and pop up shops. For participants over the age of 21, Hagerstown Hub City Runners will be providing the first keg of beer and hard cider. Don't miss this happy hour.

Family members and race supporters, you are welcome to join us at the post-race happy hour and market too! Simply purchase extra happy hour tickets, or order food and drink a la carte.

A note about the cause from Alivia's father, Jimmy Koontz:

Alivia May Koontz was born on March 25, 2004 with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome, right lung hypoplasia, and Symitar vein syndrome. After 3 open heart surgeries and countless appointments and procedures, the cardiologist informed us that he was uncomfortable moving forward. The search for a new surgeon was on. We gathered medical records and sent them to 7 hospitals across the country when finally, we received the call from Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. We can do this. In November of 2009, Alivia had her 4th open heart surgery. There, the team introduced us to a new study group focused on children with congenital heart defects: The Single Ventricle Survivorship Program. This incredible program monitors survivors in order to discover and develop treatments for affected children and create the best quality of life possible. All event proceeds will go directly to the Single Ventricle Survivorship Program at CHOP in Alivia’s honor. Help us make a difference in the lives of children who need it most!
