Event Description

On September 26, 2014, police and military forces in the Mexican city of Iguala detained and forcibly disappeared 43 students from the Rural Teachers' College in Ayotzinapa. This 5K race commemorates the fourth anniversary of their abduction and recognizes RUNNING FOR AYOTZINAPA 43 running club for their advocation of truth and justice for the Ayotzinapa 43 and for the tens of thousands of the disappeared in Mexico.

This race intends to promote a dialogue and consciousness concerning human rights violations. It is not a fundraiser or for-profit event. There is no fee to participate. Sponsored by Running for Ayotzinapa 43 and Maquette Fine Art Services, Inc.

El 26 de septiembre de 2014, fuerzas policiales y militares de la ciudad mexicana de Iguala detuvieron y desaparecieron por la fuerza a 43 estudiantes del Colegio de Docentes Rural de Ayotzinapa. Esta carrera de 5K conmemora el cuarto aniversario de su secuestro y reconoce al club de corredores por su defensa de la verdad y la justicia para el 43 de Ayotzinapa y para las decenas de miles de desaparecidos en México.

Esta carrera tiene la intención de promover un diálogo y una conciencia sobre las violaciones de los derechos humanos. No es un evento de recaudación de fondos o con fines de lucro. No hay tarifa para participar. Patrocinado por Running for Ayotzinapa 43 y Maquette Fine Art Services, Inc.
