The park is close to the water yet all paved 5K run/walk. We have a great race planned for you, so register early for low pricing.
TheThe 6th Annual Joshua 1:9 Freedom 5K Run / Walk is being held to generate awareness and support for Christians who are persecuted every day – just for their faith. Our goal is to help raise awareness about the persecution of Christians in the Middle East and Africa. Last year we raised $5,700 from the run and 100% of the funds went directly to Persecuted Christians living in refugee camps.In the spirit of this mission, we invite you to run, walk, or stroll with us on Saturday, January 26th at 7:30!
We are excited that Jaime from SpiritFM (90.5FM) will be onsite broadcasting from the run and helping to MC! How? Run. Walk. Stroll. Observe. Or participate Virtually and we’ll mail you your bib number and race day t-shirt to wear proudly! This is a great way to show your support for the Persecuted Church and impact the lives of those in Iraq from the comfort of your home if not able to attend in person. The Cause Our mission is to help those who are persecuted for their Christian faith, especially in the Middle East and Africa. Proceeds for the this year’s 5K are going to Persecuted Christian families and children who are homeless living in refugee camps in the Middle East. Most were displaced from Iraq and Syria over the past year. They are in desperate need of food, shelter, security, medical care, and our daily prayers.
Collection at the run — We will also be collecting the following items at the run — baby blankets, gloves, and hats to ship to moms and families in the refugee camps.
