Event Description

Sport Science and Wellness Education, the Sport Science Academy, Student Recreation and Wellness Services, and Student Rec Council present the 7th Annual University of Akron Homecoming 5K!

This event is made possible through the focused vision and diligent efforts of graduate and undergraduate students in the Departments of Student Recreation and Wellness Services, and Sport Science and Wellness Education. With the vision of an on-campus sporting event, these students planned, organized, and will implement the UA 5K Homecoming Run/Walk.

Event details and schedule

Students/Faculty/Staff of The University of Akron cost is $20 - NOTE: Must register in person at the Student Recreation & Wellness Center - this price is not available online.

All other runners must register online. Online registration cost is $25 - NOTE: Online Registration will close at 4pm on Thursday, October 4th to allow for printing of registrations. Online registration received after Saturday, September 29, 2018 will be $30.

Packet pick-up and race day registration will be available for $30 on Friday, October 5th from 4:00pm-7:00pm at the Student Recreation & Wellness Center.

Race day packet pick-up and on-site registration begins at 7:00am and will be located at the northwest corner of InfoCision Stadium. Pre-race yoga will be offered every 10 minutes, starting at 7:00am. Split times and water will be provided at the first and second mile markers.

The course travels through the beautiful University of Akron campus and is mostly flat with a couple of rolling hills. This fast course has an exciting finish on Summa Field!
