Event Description

Start the new year with this fun, competitive half marathon!

January the 6th is a special day in Mexico.  It is known as 'El Dia de Reyes' or Three Kings' Day.  The date commemorates the three wise men, who traveled from afar, bearing gifts for the infant baby Jesus.  ON the night of January 5th, children put one of their shoes under the bed and the next day they wake up to see a small gift left in there by the three kings or the 'reyes magos'.  Finally, during this celebration Mexicans serve 'Rosca de Reyes' or Kings' Cake.  This cake has an oval shape and has a small dolls inside which represent baby Jesus.  The person who gets the slice with the doll must host a party on February 2nd.
