Event Description

IMPORTANT: DUE TO ST RT 73 CONSTRUCTION DGLR50 WILL HAVE DIFFERENT COURSE IN 2019 AND 2020. WE ARE WORKING WITH ODNR AND ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS TO FINALIZE DETAILS AND WILL HAVE THEM READY BY MID MAY

DGLR50 IS PROUD TO BE TRAIL SISTERS APPROVED RACE.

THIS IS A CUPLESS RACE! THERE WILL BE NO CUPS AT ANY AID STATIONS. YOU CAN PURCHASE RACE CUP FOR $3. NEW THIS YEAR: EXTENDED CUTOFFS: 15 HOURS FOR 50 MILER! PLEASE BE AWARE THOUGH THAT THE WEATHER CONDITIONS CAN BE EXTREMELY HOT AS IT IS A SUMMER RACE. PLEASE CARRY PLENTY OF FLUIDS WITH YOU AS YOU GO BETWEEN AID STATIONS. THE SMALL REUSABLE CUP IS NOT DESIGNED TO CARRY FLUIDS BETWEEN AID STATIONS.

This will be completely cupless race. You can purchase ORRRC collapsible, reusable cup with your registration. Please carry it with you as well as your water bottle. There will be absolutely no cups at aid stations ( you will need to use your cup if you want to drink Coke or Ginger Ale, or grab some pretzels to go). If you ran DGLR50 last year, or Broken Toe 50K/25K, you are already familiar with cupless races.
Dawg Gone Long 50 mile course change: to make DGLR50 an even 50-mile event (yes, the course was short before), we are adding distance on FIRST loop only. Shortly after turning onto Clarksville Rd will turn right and will follow the service road all the way to the bottom of the dam. Then you will turn around and go back up returning to Clarksville Rd. If you ran the race in 2016, this is the same section we ran that year at the start of the race. This change is for 50-milers only. 50K runners will not run the dam part. During our preview runs we will run the dam part to help you get familiar with the course.

50 milers will start at 6:00 am, new cutoff to start 3rd loop will be 3:30 pm. Nobody will be allowed to start the loop after that time! It gives you 15 hours to complete the course.
NEW: 50K will start at 6:30 am this year and will run the same course as in 2017 and 2018. No dam road. Yes, 50K is longer already and we don't want to make it a 60K :)
We are  still enforcing the 10-year old rule of no switching distances after the race starts! Packet pick up is the last time to drop down or upgrade distance.  If you need volunteer credit for ORRRC 200K series, we will be doing trail work in spring. Please join us and help us make the trail better for you!
And last but not least; by popular demand we will have shirts this year!
Looking forward to seeing you all in July!

WHERE: Caesar Creek State Park, Start/Finish – Visitor Center 4020 N. Clarksville Road Waynesville, OH 45068-9408

We will have 2 “manned” aid stations at the start/finish and at the top the 50 Springs exit (Mile ~9). Any drop bags will be taken to the 50 Spring Aid station.
