Event Description
The Huntsville Half and Quarter Marathon & 5K this year will take place at the WALKER COUNTY FAIR GROUNDS. The course is largely flat with only a few gradual hills (much more friendly to our runners from Houston!). Be forewarned, it could be hot on race day. Temperatures have ranged in the past anywhere from in the mid 40s to the low 80s and as the race progresses, humidity may creep up on you as well.

Race Day Pickup: 6:00-7:30 am at Race Site Walker County Fair grounds
Start: All three races will begin at 8:00am
Timing: All three races will be chip timed.
Time Limit: 3 hours and 30 minutes for all three races.
Age groups & Awards: Awards to the overall male and female winner in the Half Marathon, Quarter Marathon and 5K will be given out as well as the top three finishers in each age group.
Age Groups: 14 & under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69 and 70+.
All finishers will receive a race medal as well.
Course Rules: Unfortunately, the course is not suitable for wheelchairs, so there will be no wheelchair competition. The race is RRCA sanctioned; no roller blades, baby joggers, or pets.
T-Shirts: All participants get a free t-shirt with registration. T-shirts will be unisex.
Directions to Race: From I-45 Exit 116, go west on Highway 30 for 3 miles. The fairgrounds will be on the left.
Parking: Plenty next to the start/finish area.
Post-Race Party: Refreshments will be provided after the race.
Showers: Showers will be available at the Iron Works Health Club. Bring your own towel, show the staff your bib, and enjoy a free shower in their new facilities! (Address: 206 State Highway 75 North - Huntsville, TX)
