Event Description
The I Run For... 5K will be a fall run in the country, offering beautiful scenery and a peaceful vibe. The I Run For... Half Marathon Organization is a club member of, and 501(c)(3) nonprofit group through, the Road Runners Club of America. Net proceeds from our race will benefit cancer research and other humanitarian causes.
PLEASE NOTE: HEADPHONES WILL NOT BE PERMITTED AT THIS RACE! Runners who are not in compliance with this rule will be disqualified and removed from the course with no refund of entry fee.
Race entry fees are not refundable under any condition. Entries can be transferred with permission from the race directors. Contact us if you have questions or need to transfer a bib.
Online registration will be open until 11:59 p.m., on Tuesday, Sept. 10. Registration will be available in person at bib/shirt pickup on Saturday, Sept. 14 (time and location TBD). There will be no race-day registration.
TEAM SPIRIT CHALLENGE
We know you have spirit, so get your workmates, family and/or friends together and come represent at the 2019 I Run For… Half Marathon and 5K. You can show your colors in our Team Spirit Challenge. Instead of recognizing the team with the fastest race times, we want to offer a prize true to the spirit of “all faces, all paces.” The team that brings the most runners to our event (half marathon or 5K) will get a cool trophy and bragging rights. On top of that, we’ll give a portion of our net proceeds to the cancer-related charity of the winning team’s choice. When you register for the race, make sure to enter your group’s name, so you’ll be counted in the Team Spirit Challenge. Discounted entries are available for groups of more than 10 runners. We are participating in the Empire Road Race Series, a partnership of eight Binghamton-area events. Run races, get swag. Be sure to register for the series (there's no additional charge) so you don't miss out on the fun. (Half marathon and 5K both count toward Empire series prizes.)
