Event Description

The Surfer�s Path Marathon, Half Marathon & Relay consists of a 26.2 mile full, 13.1 half and 2-person half marathon relay running along the coast of Santa Cruz County. The event starts at the legendary Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk and travels east along the scenic coastline, passing world famous surf breaks to the City of Capitola. Following a loop through Capitola Village, runners will retrace their steps back along the coastline, continue past the Boardwalk to the half marathon finish next to the Santa Cruz Municipal Wharf on Cowell's Beach. Full marathoners continue onto scenic West Cliff path passing the picturesque Santa Cruz lighthouse and the famed Steamers Lane surf break. The course travels to historic Wilder Ranch State Park where runners complete a majestic ocean front bluff trail loop before their return to West Cliff and the finish on Cowell's Beach. All runners receive surfboard medals, surf inspired event shirts and a beachfront finish. SURFS UP!
