Event Description
The Walton Education Foundation proudly presents our primary, annual fundraiser, the 8th Annual Apple Classic 5K/10K Run. The race will take place at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at the beautiful Hammock Bay Town Center in Freeport. On site registration will be available before the race online and at the race beginning at 7:30 a.m. This run has a 5K and 10K course. All proceeds benefit the Walton Education Foundation.
This event is sanctioned by USA Track & Field.
Online registration is $35 for the 5K/10K. Registration after January 15th is $40 for the 5K/10K. Race day registration is $40 for the 5K/10K. Student registration for the 5K/10K is $25.
All runners who register with Active.com prior to January 15, 2019 will receive a LONG SLEEVE Apple Run T-shirt..
About The Walton Education Foundation, Inc.:
The Walton Education Foundation is a not-for-profit organization established in 1995 by a rising need for support specific to teachers in Walton County. The Foundation has grown to not only help all teachers in Walton County, but to expand its impact and support teachers, their students and schools. The Foundation provides annual giving and volunteer opportunities that directly serve our students, teachers and schools through a series of educational programs and grants including:
- Classroom Grants – An annual program which is available to teachers in Walton County where additional, special project funds are provided through an application process. Special programs focus on important educational initiatives such as STEM, literacy, increasing high school graduation rates, career/technical education, low-performing students and teaching quality.
- Take Stock in Children – A not-for-profit, Florida-based program offering at risk children or children from low-income homes college scholarships, caring, volunteer mentors and an overall hope for a better life
- School District Special Events- Teacher of the Year, Celebrating & Elevating Effecting Teaching and Teachers, School Year Kick Off Event

Packet Pickup no later than 8:30 a.m.
Parking available at Hammock Bay Town Center and surrounding area
Strollers and small children on bicycles welcome! This is a family friendly event!
5K and 10K shotgun start - 9:00 a.m.
NOTE: All times listed are Central
Plan to stick around after the race for lots of fun including games, beer and awards.
