Event Description

The Rochester River Challenge, incorporates a Duathlon & Paddle Triathlon at Genesee Waterways Center on Elmwood Avenue. Participants start with a 5K run in Genesee Valley Park, where they eventually cross both the Genesee River and the Erie Canal. After the 5K, they will bike for a 20 mile road course that will take them south of the City into the town of Scottsville, passing the Rochester Institute of Technology and the Greater Rochester International Airport.  After returning to Genesee Valley Park, participants will run a final 5K run through the park or paddle their way up the Genesee River by canoe or kayak, passing the historic Ford Street Bridge.
