Event Description

Henry County Health Department Home Health and Hospice will be hosting its first Hospice 5K Memorial walk/run. The race will start and end at the health department, Prizes for top 5 Male/Female finishers, with music, food trucks, and face painting. There will be a memorial event before the start of the race with activities happening during the race . The purpose of this event is to provide our community with an event to remember and reflect on the lives of loved ones lost.

The memorial Service prior to the start of the race will consist of a reading of the name of individuals whom are being honored during this walk. The money raised at this event will go directly to benefit the Hospice patients of Henry County Home Health and Hospice. However we want to honor all loved ones at this event. So it doesn't matter if your loved one died while in hospice care, suddenly, by suicide, or drug addiction. We want to honor them. We want to take the time to reflect on their life. When signing up for the race, if you would like your loved ones name honored the day of the event, we are asking for a $5 donation. Go to the donation tab, enter the $5 and 'on behalf of' select 'other' and enter the name and date of death of your loved one. Go to If you are unable to participate in the event but would like your loved one honored at this event, you can contact Katelyn Britenriker at 419-599-5612 to make those arrangements. Our team is also working on finding volunteers who will run/walk in honor of your loved one if you are unable to do so on your own. If this is an event you are interested in but have more questions, please contact us at the Henry County Health Department Home Health and Hospice department at 419-599-5612.
