Event Description

EVENT: Race Day Xtremen - Stage 1

DATE: November 16, 2018

DESCRIPTION: Stage #1 of the Florida Xtreme Triathlon, a 3-day, 300+ mile, coast to coast triathlon across Florida. 

VENUES: Stage #1 begins at Fort Island Beach in Crystal River and concludes at Carney Island Recreation Area south of Ocala.

COURSE INFORMATION: Please note that all courses are currently being tweaked following the 2017 race, and subject to change.

  SWIM - A monitored 2 mile swim in the Gulf of Mexico. Athletes will swim two laps of a one mile course. Wetsuit use is permitted. The swim cutoff time is two hours after the official start of the race.

  BIKE - The 103 mile bike course will utilize roads and paved trails.  Athletes will bike from Fort Island Beach to the Carney Island Recreation Area south of Ocala. Cyclists are required to follow all traffic laws during the the bike segment as most intersections will not be monitored.  The course will be well marked and bike sag will be present.  The event will provide and staff several support stations along the course, and participants can also receive support from their support team at designated support zones. The official bike cutoff time is 5:30pm.

  RUN - The 30K, 18.6 mile run is a three lap course on the dirt trails within Carney Island Recreation Area. Support will be offered and participants can also receive support from their team. The official cut-off time for the run is 10:00pm
