Event Description

The Lehigh Valley is home to a growing population of budding scientists receiving graduate training at Lehigh University. Within the labs and offices at Lehigh, our graduate students are working hard to produce impactful research that will influence new solutions to today’s problems. However, the time to the next discovery is lengthened by a widespread lack of funding for research. As such, please come and race against University President John Simon and Provost Pat Farrell at the Lehigh University Graduate Student 5K on April 14, 2019 for a day of research appreciation, fitness and fun! Our race welcomes walkers and runners alike! Our course takes place on rolling hills featuring scenic views of the Lehigh Valley below. ALL REGISTRANTS RECEIVE a RACE T-SHIRT, SWAG BAG and POST-RACE REFRESHMENTS. Stick around after the race to see if you won an overall or age group award (male and female; 14&under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70+). Race awards include gold, silver and bronze medals plus gift cards to local Lehigh Valley businesses. Want to learn more about research at Lehigh? Event details and schedule

We have ample free parking for all participanats/spectators conveniently located next to the race staging area

Registration/check-in is from 8:30 - 9:45 am

The race starts at 10 am and the finish line closes at 11 am

Stick around after the race for live music, a scientific poster display and an awards ceremony

Our course features rolling hills with gentle and steady inclines overlooking a scenic view of the Lehigh Valley below
