Event Description
The Montrose Aruna 5K Run/Walk is hosted by the Aruna Project, a US-based international human rights nonprofit, dedicated to freeing, employing, and empowering survivors of human trafficking. Race participants run or walk for an enslaved woman by name to help bring her freedom. Email updates on the woman's journey to freedom are shared throughout the year.
Thanks to the generosity of local sponsors, 100 percent of registration fees and donations go to the cause of freedom. Race giveaway items included in the registration fee are hand-made by Aruna Artisans freed thanks to money raised in previous Aruna Runs.
