Event Description
The Seaside Beach Run began back in 1966 by two lifeguards - Ralph and Betty Davis. It was an 8 mile run. In 1974, the Beach Run was reduced to 7 miles and peaked in 1978 with 1200 runners!
The Beach Run is now a 10K/5K event including the 5K Prom Walk -- timed and untimed. It is a great local tradition following the Relay-for-Life and preceding the Hood to Coast. So, get on those running (walking) shoes!
All net proceeds will benefit youth fitness programs to all middle school and high school students in Clatsop County through Fit To Be Teens, Inc. -- a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
The Beach Run includes 5K or 10K races for time in the following divisions:
Youth Division (boys) 8 - 14 years
Youth Division (girls) 8 - 14 years
Young Adult (men) 15 - 19 years
Young Adult (women) 15 -19 years
Adult Divisions are divided by decade and gender [for example 20 -29 years (men); 20 - 29 years (women), and so on].
Custom medals will be awarded to first, second and third place finishers in each division; custom, etched silver plates and local business gift certificates will be awarded to the overall male and female runners with the best time regardless of division; and Master's ribbons and local business gift certificates will be awarded to the top man and woman over 50 years old.
Runners, their families and friends are invited to the Awards Picnic at Goodman Park (2 blocks from race site) immediately following the event from 11:15 am - 12:30 pm.
Bring your old running shoes to recycle after the race!

7 - 8:30 am Race Day Registration (souvenir t-shirt may not be available)
8:45 am 5K RaceWalk begins
8:50 am 5K PromWalk begins
8:55 am 5K/10K Runners will be escorted to the starting line for further instruction
9:00 am 5K/10K Races begin
10:30 am Kids' Dash begins
10:45 am Treasure Hunt begins
11:15 am Awards Picnic begins
11:30 am Awards Ceremony begins
Race packets will be available for early pick up after 3 pm on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Sunset Family Fitness located at 840 24th Avenue, Seaside, OR 97138; and beginning at 7 am on race day at the registration tables located at the site venue -- 12th Avenue and North Prom in Seaside.
There is plenty of parking within blocks of the event registration area. If you are staying in town, you may be able to walk to the race site with little effort.
