Event Description

The Virginia Mason Memorial Downtown Yakima Mile, which benefits the Yakima School District, is a timed one-mile race that opens a 14-block gradual downhill stretch of Yakima Avenue to runners of all ages and abilities. The event features 11 heats -- from elite athletes to tiny tots -- with more than $25,000 in prizes for elite milers. The race will begin on Yakima Avenue just east of 16th Avenue and will end in the shadow of the Larson Building, downtown Yakima’s historic Art Deco building. 

Through the generosity of race sponsor Virginia Mason Memorial, the Downtown Yakima Mile is free for runners under 18 years old. Adult participants can register to run for $25.
