Event Description

The course is on the scenic Terry Bison Ranch and benefits Cheyenne Regionals Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation programs through the purchase of new exercise equipment. This program supports patients who have been diagnosed with heart and lung disease primarily through supervised exercise and education.

This is a rare opportunity to run/walk on an actual working buffalo ranch. The Terry Bison ranch was originally the south headquarters of the historic Warren Livestock Company and used for raising cattle and sheep. President Theodore Roosevelt visited the ranch twice in the early 1900s. In 1993, the ranch was purchased by the Thiel family and the great American buffalo were introduced. The ranch is now 27,500 acres and stretches into Northern Colorado.

Terrain consists of gentle rolling hills on gravel roads, dirt roads and trails. Restrooms are available at the start/finish line. Aid-stations will be available halfway through the 5k and 10k courses. Walkers are welcome!

Each participant will receive a complimentary ride on the Terry Bison Ranch Bison Train on September 7, 2019, a $14 value. This narrated tour allows participants a great close-up view of bison, ostriches, camels and a variety of other animals. Each participant will receive a delicious hot breakfast provided by Sodexo and a pair of racing socks.

Packet Pickup: Packet pickup will be available on Friday, September 6, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Foot of the Rockies, 1740 Dell Range Blvd Ste D, and at the Terry Bison Ranch starting at 7 a.m. on September 7, 2019. All participants are required to sign a waiver at the packet pickup or on race day.

Dogs & Strollers: Due to the unique area, we apologize but dogs are not allowed. Strollers are allowed, but beware the course is a dirt/gravel trail and may be wet or muddy in some areas. Running or walking the event with a stroller is at your own risk. Children are welcome to participate.
