Event Description

The Inaugural year of the Illinois Aquathlon offers a Swim/Run Distance for all athletes of all abiities. 

Aquathlon has been growing in popularity so we teamed up with the Jim Edgar Panther Creek SFWA using Drake Lake to offer downstate the longest Aquathlon course in Illnois. 

On this day you can Swim/Run the following distances 

500 yard Swim - 2 Mile Run

1.2 mile Swim - 5 Mile Run

2.4 Mile Swim - 10 Mile Run

Athletes begin their day with a Open Water Swim in Drake Lake followed by a Trail Run around and past the lake. 

USAT rules apply regarding Lifeguard ratios, water temperatures and wetsuits and you can wear shoes in the swim as long as they offer no propulsion.  No Neoprene if wetsuits are not permitted. 

Tri Smarter will exceed Lifeguard to athlete ratios and the Dive/Rescue team will be on site to keep everyone safe on the swim.  

A John Deere Gator from Sloan Implement will assist in the woods if needed.

Start time are as follows:

2.4 Mile Swim - 10 Mile Run 9:00am

1.2 mile Swim - 5 Mile Run  9:15am

500 yard Swim - 2 Mile Run 9:30 am
