Event Description

5K Beach Run and 10K Beach Runs

We kick off our Kayak for the Warrior activities by hosting a 5K Beach Run and 10K Fun Runs on Saturday, May 25. The event fee for the 5K is $25 and the 10K is $30. Both include a t-shirt. The race course for both races will begin on the beach near The Inn at Pine Knoll Shores and proceed east. Both runs will stay on the beach with turn-around spots clearly marked. Times will be posted immediately. Run the East will be providing chip timing.  The top three finishers in several age and gender groups will receive awards.

The age and gender groups are as follows:

Females 15 and Under, Females 16 – 65, Females 66+

Male 15 and Under, Males 16 -65, Males 66+

Chips and numbers will be available prior to the race. You are encouraged to register online prior to the races.

There is parking at the common beach access parking across the street from the Inn at Pine Knoll Shores,  the Beacon’s Reach Management Association parking lot, and behind the Beacon’s Reach Management office in the landscape field (both off of Rt. 58).

Two porta-potties will be located at the Inn at Pine Knoll Shores next to the common beach access.

Proceeds benefit Hope For The Warriors®, a 501(c)3 with a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, whose mission is to provide comprehensive support programs for service members, veterans, and military families that are focused on transition, health and wellness, peer engagement, and connections to community resources.
