Event Description

Marathon Kids Program:

Marathon Kids, in coordination with the Spring Into Summer 5k, is a program for our PreK- 6 grade students to motivate them to become more physically active. We involve our participants in a series of warm-ups and training exercises on the Mater Dei Track / St. Mary Campus. This program prepares them to participate in the official 1-Mile race that kicks off the Spring Into Summer 5K Race. 

When:

• Beginning Monday, April 20th and culminating with the Spring Into Summer 1-mile race on Saturday, May 16 at 8:10 am.  Practice schedule is below and time is 2:30 pm - 3:00 pm.

• Entry fee for the May 16th, 1-Mile race (and kids races if applicable)

Important Information:

• Your child in grades PreK - 6 will be allowed to wear their gym uniform on Marathon Kids practice days.

• Marathon Kids in PreK must be escorted to Mater Dei Track by their parents. Participants in grades K-6 will be escorted to the track from SMS and Mater Dei connecting campuses by our Volunteer Team. Students are not to use the parking lot to walk over to the track.

• Please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather conditions. Have your child bring water and sunblock in which they will be able to administer themselves.

• The 7th and 8th grade volunteers can change at school.

• Extended Day students will be brought back to school by St. Mary School Staff.

• Parent / guardian MUST come to the track at 3:00 pm and SIGN OUT your child(ren). Please notify the volunteers if you are taking home other participants.

• In case of inclement weather, an announcement will be made at school and a Honeywell alert will be sent no later than 1 pm.

Support Us:

• Asking family or friends to help by donating or making a pledge for your child to complete the race.  There is a designated tab on the sign up segment for this and all proceeds will go to St. Mary School PTA.

• Need volunteer hours? Earn 1 PTA volunteer hour for every 2 practices.
