Event Description

Every year, you help young people in Wichita. You help end human trafficking in Wichita.

Proceeds from the 2019 race will benefit Family Promise of Greater Wichita. Family Promise combines community resources to provide shelter in rotating faith congregations, supply meals and all basic needs, and partner with families for intensive case management while they move from a homeless circumstance into a home and a sustainable life of their own. Over 40 faith congregations across Greater Wichita participate, as well as a number of support groups, volunteers, corporate donors, and partner agencies.

Overnight lodging and meals are provided by groups/congregations, using existing facilities and volunteers. A Day House serves as a central hub for case management, a consistent address, job searches, skills training and connection with community resources. Case management focuses on walking with families towards sustainable employment, housing, and individualized goals.

We are excited to partner with Family Promise because safe, stable housing is just one of the many ways we can help prevent trafficking, or help a survivor start over!

We appreciate our sponsors so much and look forward to working with you this year. If you have any questions about sponsorship opportunities, our goals for the year, or the event itself, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We couldn’t do this year after year without our amazing community of support and we can’t wait to partner with you for another successful Race 4 Freedom 5K!

This will be a flat, fast course through the Indian Hills area, including approximately 1/2 mile on the bike path by the river.

ICT S.O.S. is a Wichita-based organization that acts as a liaison between specific local professional organizations who work with trafficked youth and the Wichita volunteers who seek ways to get involved and to find solutions! By connecting local agencies with volunteers and resources, we help facilitate their missions.

Over the last 7 years, the race has raised and donated over $160,000 combined for partner agencies including Carpenter Place (2012), the Child Advocacy Center of Sedgwick County (2013), Youthville Secure Care (2014), Saint Francis Community Services (2015), Via Christi Healthcare Haven (2016), Wichita Area Sexual Assault Center (2017) an the Internet Crimes Against Chioldren task force (2018). This is a chip-timed event, by RCCA certified Trevor Darmstetter and GO RACE timing and is a fun, well-operated race.

Join us as we RUN to make a difference in the Wichita community!
