Whitefish Point: Run for the Light 9th Annual Race on Saturday October 12, 2019

All proceeds will benefit ongoing restoration of the Whitefish Point Lighthouse. 

Voted "Best road race of 2014" by The Upper Peninsula Road Runners Club!

All participants will receive a Whitefish Point: Run for the Light Dri-FIT T-Shirt with Race Packet and receive special admission Group Visit rate of $9 (regularly $13) to the Shipwreck Museum. Awards to top two finishers in each Age Group, Male and Female, in each Race Event (10K Run and 5K Run/Walk). Awards to overall Top Finishers, Male and Female in each Race Event. Course: Chip Timing, Flat paved roadway. Participants are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes!

5K: $30

10K: $40

Age Groups: 14-under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80-above

Race Packets may be picked up Friday October 11, from 2pm to 7:00pm and Saturday, October 12, from 7am to 8am at the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum's Motor Lifeboat House.

ONLINE REGISTRATION ENDS ON 10/11/2019 AT 1:00pm

CAN REGISTER ON SITE (SEVEN DAYS A WEEK) 10am TO 6:00pm THROUGH 10/11/2019 

 

 

Event details and schedule

Historical Fog Horn blast starts all races at 8:30 am.

Parking availabe onsite at upper paved parking lot, car spaces along side road and lower gravel parking lot. The Start/Finish line will be in the upper paved parking lot in front of the WPBO building. Dri-FIT T-Shirt included in race packet for all registered participants. Additional shirts may be available for purchase after the race in the Shipwreck Museum Store.

Medals for the first and second place finishers in each age group. Refreshments and award ceremony after the races in the newly restored Motor Lifeboat House (next to the Shipwreck Museum Store). Fast flat scenic course. Aid Stations at the 5k and 10k turn arounds points

Enjoy the fall colors of the season (or snow!) and beautiful Whitefish Point, though bring some warm clothing if the weather turns cold.
