Event Description

Online registration will close at 10:00pm on Sunday, July 14. Late registration and t-shirt/bib pick-up will be located at the Hope College Dow Center on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 from 5:00pm-7:00pm. On Wednesday, July 17, 2019, late registration and t-shirt/bib pick up will be from 5:00pm-6:15pm on the lawn facing Columbia near 13th/Columbia. Shirts will be guaranteed to those who register by July 1.

Camp Sunshine’s Run for the Sun event began nine years ago, when the Camp Sunshine Board of Directors focused on increasing community involvement and awareness. The Run for the Sun event is an opportunity for campers, counselors, donors, families, friends, and sponsors to join together in raising awareness and support for Camp Sunshine. Each year, the run continues to grow and surpass it’s fundraising goals. We are proud to hold our 9th Annual Run for the Sun event on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at Hope College. The 5K race will start near the corner of 13th and Columbia (Dow Center) and take you to 22nd St. From there you will take 22nd to College and from College to 10th St. Runners will take 10th to Devos Fieldhouse where they will go east on 11th. 11th St will take you to Fairbanks and then rounding out the corner back to 13th at the Dow Center. 

The evening events are open to participants of ALL abilities with prizes for the top 3 age group winners.

Also joining us for the second year in a row is My Team Triumph. My Team Triumph is a ride-along program created for children, teens, adults, and veterans with disabilities who would not normally be able to experience endurance events such as triathlons or road races. Look for their trailer parked near the race start!

Following the conclusion of the 5K race, we will be hosting an after-party at New Holland Brewing Co. on 8th St. We would love to see you there!
