Everything you need to know about the 8th Annual Iron Mountain Road & Trail events and Moochathon5k!

Registration is available online or by mail-in entry form. Mail-in forms are available at www.imrthalfmarathon.org. There is no race day registration. The final opportunity for registration will be in person at Packet Pick Up on Friday. All abilities are welcome but all participants must finish the race by 12:30 p.m., at this time the course will be open to traffic without direction from volunteer staff and police.  For this reason, walkers must start at 7:00 a.m.

What The Registration Fee Includes
All registered participants receive a Racer Shirt when registered by September 10, 2019. Half Marathon and Relay Participants will also receive our renowned swag bag and a unique finishers medal. Fruit, bagels, and beverages will be provided to runners after the event. 

Packet Pick-Up
Packet Pick-Up will be Friday, September 27, 2019 from 5:00-7:00 p.m., and race day morning from 7:30 – 8:30 a.m. Packet Pick-up will be located within City Hall directly across from the start line.

Half Marathon Course
The route will offer scenic diversity as it travels through historic downtown Iron Mountain, over the Chapin Mine Pit, alongside beautiful Lake Antoine, dipping into the picturesque Fumee Lake Natural area, back out and around the rest of Lake Antoine and back to downtown Iron Mountain. Half marathon walkers start at 7:00 am. Half marathon runners start at 9:00 am. Course closes at 12:30 pm.

Half Marathon Relay
In 2014 we added a fun, 3-person Relay option for our beautiful Half Marathon course. Two transition points, both near Lake Antoine, will allow runners of all abilities to experience our awesome course! Leg 1 of the relay is approximately 3.45 miles, leg 2 is approximately 5.90 miles and leg 3 is approximately 3.77 miles. All three team members receive a t-shirt and a finisher's medal. Corporate, family, friend teams and more are all welcome!  Registration rates cover all three entrants.

Moochathon Course
Leave Downtown Iron Mountain from the starting line by Spiro's Restaurant and turn right onto US2/Stephenson Ave heading over the Chapin Pits to turn right onto 3rd St. Continue to follow 3rd St as it transitions into Millie St. Turn right onto Margaret St following for 3.5 blocks where you will turn around between Crowell & Devereaux Streets. Follow this same route back and over the Chapin Pits where you will turn left onto E. Brown Street by the First National Bank & Trust drive-thru. Follow up the hill & turn right onto Iron Mountain St where you will speed downhill to the finish line arch! Moochathon starts at 9:15 am.

Aid Stations
There will be 6 water/aid stations available along the half marathon course. These will be approximately located at miles 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12. Water will be available at each station. PowerAde will be available at the stations located near miles #8 and 12. Oranges will be at the station near mile #8. A fresh spring water fountain is available in the Fumee Lake Natural Area near miles 4.8/8.0 on the Half Marathon course.

Awards
Awards will be given to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place overall male and female finishers for the 5k as well as medals for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place for kids divisions. Kids age division is as follows: 4 and under, 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14 years. Awards for the Half Marathon will be given to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place overall male and female finishers as well as awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place for male and female age groups. Age groups for the Half Marathon are as follows: 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and over.  Half Marathon early starts are NOT eligible for age group or overall awards but will receive finishers medals.
