Event Description
Carry a bucket – raise awareness – pay tribute. Imagine that instead of going to work or school every day you have to walk almost 4 miles to the nearest water source, a polluted stream and carry back as much water as you can that will need to provide for you and your family...This is the reality of thousands of people around the world...
Join us on Saturday, September 21, 2019 to pay tribute to individuals - mostly women and children - that make this journey every day. Participants will create a ribbon of blue t-shirts carrying a bucket if they choose and walk nearly 3 miles through the Springs Preserve to bring awareness to global, and local water issues.
Your registration includes an event t-shirt, pre-event activities with music and games as well as complimentary entry to the WaterWorks exhibit at Springs Preserve.
Proceeds from the Walk for Water for One Drop benefit to the Las Vegas community through various local partnerships such as Springs Preserve, DISCOVERY Children's Museum, Desert Research Institute and WaterStart to bring water education and technology to Southern Nevada.

Event details and schedule
- 7:30 am: Registration opens at Springs Preserve with games and entertainment
- 8:30 am: Programming begins - Welcome from the Mayor and walker warm-up
- 9:00 am: With buckets in hand, the walk begins
- 10:15 am: Walkers arrive back at the amphitheater
- 10:30 am: Snacks, bucket challenge results and event wrap-up
- 10:45 am: Enjoy the WaterWorks Exhibit!
We encourage you to carpool as there is limited parking at Springs Preserve and once parking is full, you will need to park offsite.
This is not a race, but please wear comfortable shoes, active wear, and sun screen! We encourage you to bring a reusable water bottle, and we will have water filling stations available at both the beginning and end of the route.
