Event Description
Please join us for the 4th Annual Gr8t Chase 5K Run/Walk to be held Saturday, October 5th at 8:00 AM at Gateway Island, 1875 West College Street in Murfreesboro, TN 37129. Find out how you can contribute to someone in need through donations of money and time.
Who are we? The Gr8t Chase devotes its energy to passionately advocating for families whose children are in need of hope, compassion, and financial support as they are battling life-limiting illnesses.
Our Why? Chase Donnell was a 10 year old boy who had a golden soul that radiated onto others with compassion, joy, and empathy. He strived to help others in need, even in his last moments on this earth, he gave away his last wish to his fellow school mates by remodeling his school gymnasium along with new sports equiptment so that they could enjoy being kids and have fun. He longed to not be forgotten as he left this world and with your help, we can continue his legacy in helping others when they find themselves in the same situation of having their lives disrupted.
What? Your registration will go to help children in need! Early Bird "Spooktacular" Savings in May - Registration is $25.00! June - September 14th will be Regular price entry at $30. Don't get left behind because September 15 prices get scary @ $35. Every early registration by September 14, 2019 includes your choice of T-shirt and a silicone bracelet. (The only way to guarantee a T-shirt with your size is to register before September 14!). We are working hard to make your goody bag GR8T!
Medals: All registrants will receive a finisher's medal if you cross that finish line! YOU are making a difference in the lives of others by putting in the work, so YOU deserve to be recognized for it and know that we appreciate YOU! There will also be plaques for the overall top male and female winner; top 3 male and female winners in the following divisions: 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 and up! There will also be a plaque for the largest team.
Packet Pick-up: Packet pick-up will be at The Juice Bar Murfreesboro on October 4, 2019 from 11 AM - 6 PM. Race day packet pick-up will also be available starting at 6:00 AM. Email reminders will be sent to all registrants several times starting a few weeks before race day.
Fundraising: This year we are trying something new! We will be announcing soon fun incentives and prizes to go to top individuals and teams along the way to race day! Whether you decide to form or join a team or fundraise for yourself, we will have something for everyone! Fundraising is optional.
Every individual that raises $100 will have the option to have the regular $30 registration refunded! Even if you are an early bird ~ we will pay you for working with us! That is our thanks to you for spreading the word about the Gr8t Chase and furthering our mission! We are all a team with one mission - to raise awareness and smiles in those who need it most!
Do you have what it takes to be a Team Captain? It takes a special person to create and lead a team. Put your passion and dedication to work by building and leading a fundraising team! Your teammates can come from your workplace to form a corporate team, or you can tap your friends and family, social network, or community.
Team captain responsibilities include:
- Organizing your team for success!
- Recruiting co-workers, friends & family members to join the team and raise funds.
- Building and maintaining momentum and team enthusiasm up to and during the Walk.
- Collecting money and ensuring it gets added to your total!
